The below excerpt is a guest post from Barbara Davis.

There are so many families with school aged children who live in poverty that have to make tough choices when it comes to providing the basics for their children to succeed in the classroom while making sure all of the household expenses are covered. As a board member with Classroom Central, I believe that furthering the mission of providing free school supplies to children who live in poverty helps to make those choices less burdensome for families in need. I have volunteered in many of the “Backpacks and Basics” distributions at various schools in the Charlotte area during my tenure as a board member and the end results are always the same: smiling faces!  Not only for the students, but for me and countless other volunteers and donors who work to make a difference in the lives of students.

Please join us in our efforts as we continue to develop new and innovative programs to deliver even more free school supplies into the hands of teachers and students to pave the way to a brighter future.
