Here at Classroom Central, Summer is our busiest season.  It’s the time we are collecting supplies, organizing them and why we are here:  delivering them to the kids.   In August, we are grateful that our warehouse is busy with supply drive drop offs to help make our mission to supply the 135,000 students living in poverty possible.

We wanted to share a few drop-offs and donations from last week:

Ballantyne Corporate Park held a Color the Park Marker Drive for Classroom Central.  This is organized by Bissell who owns the office park.  Tenants worked together to collect 13,591 packs of markers and 1,510 miscellaneous school supply donations. One of the 2013 Co-Chairs, Remi, collected an amazing 3,477 packs of markers!   They also provided Classroom Central with a generous check!

Delivery by Bissell / Remi Group - 7400 markers!

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated dropped off a pallet of key essential items, along with a kind financial donation.  They also promised some waters to help keep our volunteers cool when sorting in the warehouse!

Two Wheel Frenzy, a local motorcycle club, dropped off a few backpacks filled school supplies in style, on their motorcycles!!

Home Inspection Carolina had seen a feature about Classroom Central on the news and brought by a check for us!

Our friends at WSOC were here for a live remote as a part of the #9SchoolTools campaign.  A few people heard the message on TV and drove through our donation station to help out!

Hunters-Gate neighborhood friends & neighbors brought in over 2000 items – WOW!

Hunters Gate

Nick Cannon came to Charlotte in support of the Office Depot Foundation‘s Backpack Donation event which took place at their Pineville store.  They gave 3500 backpacks out in the Charlotte region, distributed through a variety of non-profits.  Thanks to them for helping with the need in our area.

One of our student volunteers in Overlook neighborhood wrote a letter to residents encouraging them to donate.  They have done this the past three years.  What amazing kids, helping to give back to those less fortunate!

Thanks to all our wonderful donors!   And, it’s not too late to donate!  We accept donations year-round at 2116 Wilkinson Boulevard Monday – Thursday between the hours of 8am-Noon.
