Classroom Central believes in the potential of every child. Our vision is a community where all children have a level of educational playing field, and the tools they need to succeed in the classroom are not only accessible but guaranteed.

One in two public school children in our community lives in poverty. Our organization now supports 248 schools and more than 162,000 students—a number that has risen 26% in the last two years alone. These students are not living in the more rural, outskirts areas of our region. In fact, Classroom Central supports 73% of all Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools this year.

The lack of simple resources like pencils, paper, and books limits children, setting them behind the educational learning curve before they have even had a chance to start kindergarten. Students cannot effectively learn without proper supplies, which impacts all future opportunities. If a child fails in school, they have no chance of being prepared for the workforce, especially not careers that will move them beyond the confines of generational poverty.
